i-Generation stands for Issachar Generation, referring to the men of Issachar who came to join David at Hebron when he became king of Israel. And it says of them "men of Issachar, who understood the times and knew what Israel should do - 200 chiefs, with all their relatives under their command". 1 Chronicles 12:32. i-Generation is about enabling participants to find their place in the purposes of God in this generation and about releasing a generation who understand the times and know what God requires.

I-generation training is a church based and biblically led discipleship process to prepare young men in particular for life and ministry, in that way fulfilling our vision to father a fatherless generation.

Today we have a crisis in masculinity, which also affects our women. This is clear in the church as well as the amount of literature there is pouring forth addressing this as a key problem in society.

In the Scriptures (refer to Psalm 27; Malachi 4:5, 6 and Luke 15) we see the need for sons in the house. In this nation we see a fatherless generation; a ‘Father hunger’; a refusal or inability to take responsibility; a lack of role models; a need for mentors; bad or nonexistent relationships between sons and fathers and confusion about what it means to be a biblical man.

God has a purpose in all of this. Our goal is not maximum manhood, but to lead men to be like Christ and to serve his apostolic purposes in the nations.

The three main objectives are:

  1. To help people realise their identity, belonging and purpose in Christ.
  2. To take individuals from a focus on self to full participation in Christ and his community.
  3. To train people to be self-motivated for their own personal growth as well as for the growth of their church and the kingdom of God.
