The Stories Of Jesus

What are the stories of Jesus in the Gospels all about? Simply put they are describing some aspect of the kingdom of God or as we have called it in the series ‘the Revolution of God’. Jesus as a master storyteller uses real-life stories from first century Palestine to proclaim the coming of God's Revolution and the dramatic change it brings to our lives in areas such as forgiveness, handling anger, loving my neighbour and preparing for his final dramatic return. Download from our resources page, listen and be changed! Craig.

You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own stability. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen. 2 Peter 3:17-18

(With acknowledgement and appreciation to PJ Smyth and GodFirst Church in Johannesburg for this series. Below is a summary of Benson Okyere-Manu's sermon preached on 21 April 2013.

How to Disagree Biblically CLICK HERE TO READ

This is an extract from Craig Botha’s “How to disagree and still see lives saved” preached on 28 October 2012. Please read Acts 15:36-41. As we draw to an end of this Saving Lives series, we need to continue groing in our mission to reach the city with the gospel, especially Scottsville and the students around us, and see folks saved.

Gospel Impact On Cities - CLICK HERE TO READ

Read Acts 19:1-20. The gospel makes its greatest impact in cities. Among the New Testament cities, Corinth was a commercial centre and Athens was great for learning and philosophy. Ephesus was the political capital of Roman Asia but also the main religious and demonic capital of the Greco-Roman world. Diana (also known as Artemis) was a fertility and mother goddess. Diana had a statue with many breasts and a massive temple which was regarded as one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, serving as headquarters for magic.

Taking Church Into The Community

Dear friends, as part of our commitment to making a difference in our city we are going to be undertaking another litter clean up in our Scottsville area this Sunday, 16 September. It is part of our GraceGen Cares initiative and is also a great missional exercise and as we ‘treasure hunt’ at the same time. ‘Treasure hunting’ is an exciting prophetic evangelism exercise a number of churches have been doing of late.

The Real Jesus

As was expected, we had another wonderful preaching weekend with Michael Eaton early on in August as he spoke on ' the miracles of Jesus'. His word to us on Sunday, 5 August 'Jesus light of the world' will be our message of the month.

We have just reprinted Michael's most popular book “Living under Grace, preaching through Romans 6 & 7” which is also available from our office.
